Pat Chapman

Patrick Ishmael Chapman was born on November 11, 1946 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Houston, Texas. Pat passed away peacefully on February 11, 2014 surround in love with his family.

Pat fought a courageous three year battle against merkel cell carcinoma, a very rare and often lethal form of skin cancer.

Pat is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ishmael and Fayola Snow , of Hockley, Texas and his father, Hugh Clark Chapman of Lake Jackson, Texas.

Pat is survived by his mother, Earlene Snow Chapman, of Lake Jackson, Texas; his wife of 32 years, Faye, of Montgomery, Texas; son, Patrick Chapman and wife, Kyra, of Houston, Texas; daughter, Dawn-Petrice Youngs and husband, Matt, of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Stephen, Mackennah, and Cael Youngs, of Houston, Texas; stepson, Chris Bamburg and daughter, Ellie, of Washington, D.C. Brothers, Hugh Timothy Chapman and wife, Debbie; sons, Chad and Manning, of Rockport, Texas and Stephen Michael Chapman and daughter, Katie and companion Joann Creech, of Katy, Texas.

Pat was a graduate of Brazosport High School and Sam Houston University in Huntsville where he played on the golf teams. After completing college he served in the Texas National Guard.

Pat began his career at Entex designing rate schedules and later worked at Tennessee Gas Pipeline in the natural gas contracts department.

He served as Vice President of Energy Marketing for Mitchell Energy and Development. Pat left Mitchell to form his own company, Newco Energy, Inc.

Pat loved to hunt, fish, and to play golf. Pat was a life-time member of Beefmaster’s Breeders United.

He particularly enjoyed riding his tractor and taking care of his cows with his beloved border collie, Roxie.

When his grandchildren entered his life, he loved passing on these traits to them and was affectionately known as “Pops.”

Pat will be sorely missed by his family and an abundance of friends who he considered to be family.

Oh, Patrick ! 

    I just can't believe with all of the hope you and I discussed before you went back for treatment...that you didn't make it home to Hockley...!  I had not even once given up my prayers but God had other Plans in mind for you ,my friend...just be there next year looking in on us at the reunion. Dear friend and know that I miss you as well as other friends,and your beautiful family as well...!  See you again soon still working on getting my wings , reckon ,I'll make it ? I'll hear your answer in my heart...I couldn't find a John Deere a Green one, so I settled for a CAT for you new Tractor in Heaven, keep the clouds a moving .....??
