In Memory

Charles Baggett

Charles Baggett

I just wanted to let you know that Charles "Bubba" Baggett passed away about three weeks ago from a massive heart attack. He was living in Houston. There was no funeral or memorial. According to Peggy Berkeley Baggett he wanted to be buried by his parents. He would have been 73 on his birthday 12/27.

Even though we grew up next door to each other. I know that he lived in New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston and Corpus Christi. After his father passed away, he came back to Jones Creek and stayed with his mother until she passed away. I tried to find him over the years to no avail. May he rest in peace

Please post for our class

I met Bubba Baggett when I was about 8 or 9 years old. His father and my mother grew up in Smithville,Texas and that was our connection. Many Sunday afternoon drives from LJ with my parents would end at Joe and Doris house in Jones Creek. Bubba and I would play together.  I ran with Bubba more in Smithville in the summers and at Jamboree. Bubba had a red Jeep... no doors and no seat belts and we would go down all those country roads around Smithville. Marilyn Fortenberry was with us a few times. Bubba had a different kind of sense of humor to say the least. Marilyn and I tried to track him down for the 2010 and 2015 reunions. I received the letters I senr to him as returned mail. Rest In Peace my Friend.
