Sadly, we have lost another sweet friend and classmate. Molly O’Neil Williams passed away this morning, September 7,2023. Molly is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Meister and Tammy Gonzales, several grandchildren and three sisters. At Molly’s request, there will be no services. Family and friends will celebrate Molly’s life by recalling the joy Molly brought to them and the special times spent with her. May God’s peace surround the family.

Molly (O,Neil) Williams

April 01, 1947 – September 07, 2023

Molly was born an April Fool’s baby to Willard & Tip O’Neil in Tulsa, OK. The family moved to Lake Jackson, Texas a year later where she grew up and graduated from Brazosport High School in 1965. Molly was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, mother, mother-in-law, nanny and friend to all. There was always a smile on her face & she possessed an amazing sense of humor.

Molly is preceded in death by her parents, Willard & Tip O’Neil; brother, Tim O’Neil; and best friend, Shirley Brooks.

She is survived by her daughters, Tammy House Gonzales of Clute, Jennifer Meister & husband, Andy, of Fulshear; five grandchildren, Joshua, Karrissa, Taylor, Kyle and Courtney; five great-grandchildren, Hunter, Cash, Layla, Izabella, and Lilliana; sisters, Diane Duran & husband, Jack of San Antonio, Judy Davis of New Braunfels, and Sue Uptmore of Katy.

The family would like to extend our gratitude to Oak Village Healthcare and Choice Hospice for caring for our mother in her final days.

We know that Molly is eating all the M&M’s she could ever want with a smile on her face.

Please continue watching over us all until we meet again. Rest peacefully in Heaven.

Molly lived a couple of blocks away in our elementary and junior high years; across the street from Bobby Adams. She was one of the sweetest, kindest people I ever knew.  We weren't particularly cclose, but getting the notice tonight about her passing struck me deeply. Bless you, Molly.

Sweet sweet Molly!! I haven't seen her in many years, but she was always the sweetest and kindest girl you'd ever want to meet. They lived on Magnolia I believe. We seem to be losing classmates fairly often these days huh? I pray we can get together for another reunion soon to catch up and visit. We'll miss you Molly! RIP old friend. Love ya-Donnie

It seems that with Molly's passing, we have lost two classmates recently and way too quickly. I'm saddened by that. Just pray that Molly was the last of us passing for a while. Am sure she will be watching from above.

Molly was my always cheerful childhood friend whose house was within easy walking distance. Molly and I appear in class photos often posed side-by-side because, alas, we were among the shortest.

Back in the 1950s Molly arranged one of the biggest ever slumber parties in Lake Jackson. No one in our age group was excluded. We brought our bedrolls and stashed our necessities into pillowcases. For the minimal time we slept, Molly made each of us feel special and welcomed.

In her obituary photo Molly presents as slightly mischievious as well as the tried-and-true childhood friend I remember. She had room for all of us in spite of her own personal travails and challenges.

Thank you, Molly, for demonstrating strength and resolve when we did not even know we needed it. Thank you, Molly, for whispering Truth to me and perhaps to other women in the Class of 1965.  Thank you, Molly for being an enduring contemporary voice for All Women in the twenty-first century.

Thank you, Molly for including me in your Big Slumber Party. I am who I am because of your Big Slumber Party.

Forever,

Jeana
