Many of our classmates have been affected by the Texas wildfires.  This forum will help us keep up with updates from our friends.

Message from Dave Baxley:

The wildfire started near us at Todd Mission, across from the Renn Faire on FM 1774.  The fire moved south most of the first day, and then turned east and got beneath us to the south.  Wednesday, the fire turned north and headed toward us but was arrested about 1/8 mile from our house.  There have been small flare-ups from time to time, but they have been well controlled.

There has been strong movement and spreading of the fire to the south of me, and the fire jumped FM 1488 and did some damage there.  At the moment, the worst seems to be at the Crown Ranch subdivision a little north of Magnolia.

Our home has been spared. We are so thankful and humbled. Ponderosa Rd. is still blocked off so we can't go back yet. Hopefully, soon. There isn't electricity or water and don't know when that will be fixed. Craig Behn's house was spared also but many of our friends/family lost everything. We are grieved and heartbroken for them.

Heard this morning that Charlie Moore lost his home in Bastrop. Anybody know if that's true?

Here's a message from Gigi Hall (Don and Charlie are close friends).

Don talked to Charley when the fire first started and they were going to stay with their daughter in Columbus.

I just found a list of homes that were destroyed in fire and their address was listed.  I think they knew that this was going to be the case, but as always, hoping to hear otherwise.
