Chris Cone Crainer was welcomed into Heaven by her parents, Clyde and Nonie Cone and sister, Teresa; sister-in-laws, Stephanie and Robin, along with other family members, the morning of June 9th. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Chris will be celebrated by her surviving family members, including her husband of 57 years, Everett, children, Theresa Brooks (Tracy) and Eric Crainer (Jennifer). She leaves behind her precious grandchildren, Taylor Nonie Spruell (Nick) and Austin Macmillan Crainer. Also mourning her loss are her brothers, Steve Cone, John Cone, and Matt Cone; brother-in-law, Jim Crainer (Susan); close friend, Ruth Holt; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Chris taught 39 years at Lake Jackson Intermediate and Rasco Middle schools, where she was blessed with amazing coworkers and students.
Chris loved spending time with friends and family and tending to her daylily flowers.
A casual, Celebration of Life for Chris Cone Crainer will take place at Cone Ranch (4500 County Road 819C Brazoria, Texas 77422), on Saturday, June 14th, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to come and share stories, laughter, and love as they remember her.
Her family would like to extend a special thanks to her caregivers—Gary May & Sharon Klehm —who loved her like family. Thank you for your kindness and support.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to myself, so that where I am, there you may be also. John 14:3
Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church Jones Creek (231 Gulf Prairie Rd Freeport, TX 77541) or to the charity of your choice.

Red headed Chris Cone Crainer....what a hoot to be around. Many times Chris and Ruth Holt would ride with me to the Angleton dances. I enjoyed her sense of humor and her friendship. I could say just about anything to Chris and Ruth.....great to have people you could say things too. The three of us had some good times. I do not remember having any classes with her in Junior or Senior High, but always saw her in the hall with that smile of her's. RIP Chris.....you are missed. PEACE TO YOUR FAMILY!!!
