Not sure of the first time that I met Pete, but do remember him vividly in our 8th grade Algebra and 9th grade Plane Geometry class with Mrs. Lovett.  Pete was easily a thorn in Mrs. Lovett's personality.  I gotta say this about Pete....he did disagree with her on many occasions and stood his ground.  Was around Pete some in High School...probably math and science courses from what I remember.  Pete was pretty smart and had a wicked dry sense of humor.  One time a bunch of us...names of most left out to protect their guilty way...were riding in Pete's International Harvester truck....like a cross between a panel truck and SUV,  Any way we were out in the park driving at night no lights and doing doughnuts....a Lake Jackson police officer stops us and asked for name and address of where everyone lived....after 3 or 4 of us gave our name and where we lived....it came to good ole Bobby Adams who said his name and then pointed in the direction of where he lived and said "That Way"  We all laughed except for the officer.  Then Bobby showed him his drivers license and sure enought he lived on "That Way" street.  Did share a few beers with Pete in High School.

Pete's father and my father worked together at Dow and one day they got Pete and I into the area where they worked.  It was like a big Chemistry Lab.  They showed us a bunch of their equipment and what it was used for..it was a great learning experience.  This was around our Junior/Senior year.

I did not see Pete much after High School.  I did see him at one of the reunions and thanked him for his Service to our Country and to the Community of Clute on being one of their council persons.

REST IN PEACE PETE...YOU DESERVE IT.

If you see Mrs. Lovett in heaven.....I will understand the next Thunder and Lightning storm is the two of you discussing the Right way, the Wrong way and of Course....the Lovett way.
