I remember Barbara as a classmate at Freeport Junior High. She was a cute, smart girl and one of my two favorite partners (the other was Janice Volkening) at the "dance club" that met one summer at the clubhouse of the old Dow golf course on West 2nd in Freeport. I was saddened to hear of her passing; she has left us much too soon.
I was blessed enough to be apart of the Ladies at Gulf Prairie Presbyterian Church who served lunch for Barbara's service. It was sad, but so nice to meet her husband and her children and family..saw a lot of friends who attended on this sad occasion. It was a lovely funeral and I was very glad I could help with this.. Barbara was a very fast runner in Track at BHS.as we both ran the 50 and 100 yard dash..great memories...and she was a very sweet friend..Jane Coulter

Barbara was such a smart and nice person. I spent a lot of time visiting with her at our 50th reunion. RIP Barbara Karen Reader Spiller
