Cynda Mossier Ponder

Athens — Services are not scheduled at this time for Cynda Mossier Ponder. Arrangements were by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors of Amarillo.

Cynda Ponder was born June 14, 1947 unto Mr. J.R. Mossier and Anna Leah McDonald Mossier in Pryor Okla. Her family moved to Clute, in 1960, where she graduated from Brazosport High School in 1965. She married Donnie Ponder in 1965. They moved to Athens in 1972, where they raised their family.

Cynda had a very successful career in real estate while they lived in Athens. She was also very involved in the church and the community. In 1988, she moved to El Dorado, Ark. where she was the director of the local YMCA, and a regional manager for Avon. Cynda spent her final years in the Texas Panhandle under the care of her eldest son and his family.

Cynda was a sweet, loving and vibrant lady who loved life. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family. She was deeply loved by all who met her. She will be deeply missed.

She is preceded in death by her father, and sister Merrilee Mossier Miller of Athens.

Survivors include children Jeff Ponder of Bushland; Brian Ponder of Northfield Minn.; Jana Ponder Pruitt of El Dorado, Ark.; Mother Anna Leah Mossier of Clute; sister Karen Norris of Houston; six Grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
