Starlin M. (Buddy) Clifford

Starlin (Buddy) Clifford Jr., 69 of Lake Jackson, TX. went to his forever home in Heaven Monday morning, May 29th 2017 at home while surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in El Paso, TX to Starlin M. Clifford and Inez Bailey Clifford. He graduated from Brazosport High School in 1966 and was married for 52+ years to his high school sweetheart Judy Stephenson Clifford.

Starlin (Buddy) was the owner of Anchor Safe and Lock in Lake Jackson, TX, and was one of the nation’s first Certified Master Locksmiths, a long-time instructor and mentor for the Locksmith industry. He served on the Board of The Texas Locksmith Association and the Greater Houston Locksmith Association for many years. He was the recipient of The Texas Longhorn award, George Robins Memorial Education award, The Philadelphia award, and the Lee Rognan award of excellence. All of which are prestigious awards of the locksmith industry.

He was preceded in death by his mother, father; sister, Shirley Clifford Bryan; son-in-law, Clayton A. McEntire; and nephew, Michael Palmer.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Michelle (Odie) Odenwalder, daughter, Kristi (Philip) Susen; grandchildren, Ashley, Clayton “Cj” (Michelle), Hunter and Hailey; great-granddaughters, Maci and Rylan; sisters, Peggy (Ken) Grant and Debbie (Billy) Hinkle; as well as many nieces, nephews, special sister-in-law, Sharon (Gary) Palmer; brothers-in-law, W.M. (LuAnn) Stephenson and Randy (Linda) Stephenson; and his beloved dog Lil’Buddy.

A memorial Service in his honor will be held at Dignity Funeral Home, 1038 Plantation Dr. in Clute, TX at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 3rd, 2017. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texas Equusearch P.O. Box 395, Dickinson, TX 77539, or online at WWW.TXEQ.ORG.

The family wishes to send their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Pant and The Brazosport Cancer Center for their Love and Care for the past year and to Dr. Raj Dalal. Special recognition goes to the IPH Hospice Care team that cared for him in his final days.
